Maltería Oriental S.A. is a 75 year old industry experienced in production and commercialization of malt and beer barley. Its industrial plant is located 12 km. north of the port of Montevideo, and an average distance of 200 km of its barley crops. It deals with a consolidated network of distributors and producers, which guarantees its annually requirements for beer barley. Likewise, it relies on its own varietal developing program. It produces annually 60000 ton of malt, that are destined to prestigious breweries from Brazil, Venezuela, Chile, Paraguay, Bolivia and Uruguay, as well as also Central America, the Caribbean and Africa. In the same way, it has shipped barley to South America and Occidental and Oriental Europe.
